Privacy Policy

Coinfold never connects to your bank and never touches your money. There is no account and no sign-up. Your challenges and amounts stay on your iPhone. We collect only anonymous data that helps the app work and get better, and we never sell it.

This policy explains what the Coinfold app for iPhone ("Coinfold", "the app") does with data. Coinfold is made by Narek Sumbatyan, an independent developer ("we", "us"). Questions: narek.sumbatyan.owt@gmail.com.

1. What stays on your iPhone

Everything you enter in Coinfold is saved only on your iPhone, never on our servers:

We can't see this data. It may be included in your iPhone's own backup (iCloud or computer), which is handled by Apple and you. If you delete the app, this data is deleted too.

2. Reminders

The daily "Your envelope is waiting" reminder is scheduled on your iPhone itself. No reminder data is sent to us or to any server. You can turn reminders off in the app's Settings or in iPhone Settings → Notifications.

3. Purchases

Coinfold Pro is bought through Apple. Apple handles the payment; we never see your name, Apple ID or card details. To know whether Pro is active, the app uses RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous ID created for the app, your Coinfold purchases and subscription status from Apple, and basic device information (such as iOS version, app version and App Store country).

4. Anonymous usage statistics

To learn which parts of Coinfold are used and where people get stuck, the app sends anonymous events to Mixpanel, stored in the European Union. For example: onboarding was finished, a challenge was started, an envelope was opened or saved, a setting was changed, a purchase was completed or cancelled. Events include the type of challenge, the currency code, device model, iOS version, app version and an approximate location (country, region, city) estimated from the IP address.

Events never include the amounts you save, goal names, anything you type, your Apple ID or an advertising ID. They are tied only to a random ID created by the app.

5. Crash reports

If the app crashes or hits an error, it sends a report to Sentry (stored in the European Union) so we can fix it: what went wrong and where in the code, device model, iOS version and app version. Reports don't include amounts, goal names, personal data or screenshots, and Sentry is set not to store IP addresses.

6. What we don't do

7. How long data is kept

Data on your iPhone stays until you delete it or the app. Anonymous usage statistics and crash reports are kept only as long as they are useful for improving Coinfold.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live (for example, the EU, the UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data and to object to its use. Because Coinfold's data is anonymous, we usually can't link it to you, but write to us at narek.sumbatyan.owt@gmail.com and we will do what we can. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Children

Coinfold is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update it on this page and change the date at the top. Important changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
